| In New York Central and Olympic days there was a highway overpass here. When the bridge needed replacing in the early 1980's it was simply removed. Since no trains were running a crossing was not even installed and the track stopped roughly where the fresh ballast begins. This new crossing was put in place prior to operations starting back up in Lake Placid in 2000. |
